That’s why we actively invest in opportunities that introduce students to meaningful careers in construction, including events like the Northwest Georgia Skills Challenge. We partnered with AGC Georgia and RaLin Construction to bring together trade professionals to encourage and educate students on the future they can create for themselves in the trades.

This alignment made coordinating schedules, maintaining safety, and managing budgets more efficient from day one.

Duffey Southeast Construction recently partnered with SkillsUSA, AGC Georgia, and RaLin Construction to host the Northwest Georgia Skills Challenge for high school students. While the event showcased impressive craftsmanship and friendly competition, its purpose reached far beyond the competition day. This event was about creating awareness, expanding opportunity, and helping young people see themselves in a thriving and impactful industry.

At Duffey Southeast, growth happens through experience, guidance, and the ability to see how each part of a project fits into the whole. As Superintendent Samuel Dionne experienced while training on the Wildwood project, “You have to continue to zoom out and make sure that all the parts and pieces are working together.”

In 2020, Duffey Southeast became 100% employee-owned through the creation of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). This plan allows employees to earn shares of the company over time, meaning that each person on our team has a financial stake in the company’s growth and long-term success.

We’re proud to have recently constructed a 30,000-square-foot infrastructure training facility on an 18.5-acre site in Central Florida. What began as open pastureland is now a fully equipped training center approaching final turnover to the client.

Our commitment was on full display at the 2023 Northwest Georgia Skills Competition held in Rome, Georgia. This event provided a platform for high school students to showcase and enhance their skills in various trades, offering them a pathway to success right out of school.

Duffey Southeast was recently selected by a Fortune 100 company to complete a new modular datacenter project at an existing telecommunications site in central Florida. Comprised of sections, or “pods”, the modular datacenter approach is advantageous to some owners who want to lessen the duration of onsite construction activities, reduce the cost of conventional building construction, and receive a product that could potentially be relocated to an alternate location in the future.

The Toyota Material Handling South Fulton location is a state-of-the-art facility designed and built to merge several existing facilities to provide the company with streamlined processes and fiscally responsible methods of operation. Many project and supply chain obstacles were overcome during this project which required the determination, knowledge, and skill of both our field and office operations teams. Through communication, strategic planning and the use of Lean principles, the project delivery was a success, satisfying the needs and goals of our repeat client.

In the Electrical challenge of the AGC Skills Challenge, students were given blueprints of electrical wiring and how to install boxes and locate wires. They started at the panel and wired to switches, GFI’s and light fixtures. They were watched by judges the entire time while also receiving tips and tricks from them. The students were judged on use of tools, safety, assembly according to plans, national electrical code, locations of items, functional test, and percent complete.

Partnering together, Duffey Southeast and The Associated General Contractors of Georgia hosted construction students from 14-area high schools for the Northwest Georgia Workforce Development Alliance Skills Challenge. The event competitions were held Nov. 1, at the Polk County College and Career Academy, in our hometown of Cedartown, Georgia. The event was one of seven regional event competitions held throughout the state.

The Details Matter at Duffey Southeast. This project presented a lot of earth work and concrete work to be performed. It was a combined effort from Duffey and our trade partners in order to achieve a successful end result for a high value telecommunications client.
