Investing in the Future of Trades

Investing in the Future of Trades

At Duffey Southeast, we believe the future of our industry depends on the next generation of skilled trade professionals. That’s why we actively invest in opportunities that introduce students to meaningful careers in construction, including events like the Northwest Georgia Skills Challenge. We partnered with AGC Georgia and RaLin Construction to bring together trade professionals to encourage and educate students on the future they can create for themselves in the trades.

Supporting Workforce Development in the Construction Industry

Skilled trades offer a strong career path for individuals who want to build a successful future without the time and financial investment that college requires. Careers in electrical, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and other construction trades provide opportunities to earn a competitive income, develop specialized skills, and build long term stability.

With only seven new electricians for every ten that retire and similar statistics across all other trades, investing in workforce development is essential. Supporting career and technical education programs helps ensure the industry remains strong, competitive, and prepared for future growth.

Duffey Southeast 2025 Skills Challenge

Northwest Georgia Skills Challenge

The Northwest Georgia Skills Challenge brought together high school students from technical programs across the region. These students competed in hands on challenges that test real world jobsite skills, including electrical wiring, blueprint reading, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and drywall installation.

The level of talent on display was impressive and reinforces the importance of skilled trade programs. By participating in events like the Northwest Georgia Skills Challenge, Duffey Southeast is proud to continue investing in the future of construction careers and the next generation of skilled trades professionals.
