OUR LEADERSHIP
DAN BAKER
-
Dan Baker developed a love for the construction process through helping his father on projects as a child, but what sets him apart from second generation construction managers is Dan truly feels that he was put on this earth to build. He turned his summer job in middle school into a full-time career, earning his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and ultimately founding Duffey Southeast, Inc. in 2002.
Dan considers their firm to be a true builder – a general contractor that puts service first. Under his leadership, Duffey Southeast team members keep their word to consistently and safely deliver projects which start and complete on schedule and within budget while exceeding client goals. Knowing that project personnel are ultimately the key to success, Dan takes great effort to invest in both people and technology to differentiate Duffey Southeast from the rest. He is committed to hiring and retaining the brightest and most talented construction professionals in the industry and has instilled a culture of teamwork, skill, integrity and responsibility at the firm.
Dan is a registered Professional Engineer and holds General Contractors Licenses in many states across the Southeast. An active member of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), he has served numerous years in leadership roles at the State and National level. He has also served as a trustee, leader and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Cedar Bluff, AL.
DARRIN KINES
-
With a strong aptitude for science and math, Darrin Kines was naturally drawn to coursework at the Georgia Institute of Technology where he ultimately graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering. While he found engineering fascinating, he chose a career in construction, where he gets to apply the fundamentals of engineering out in the field and bring projects to life. Darrin is organized, driven and knows great leadership creates successful projects.
Darrin has been with Duffey Southeast since its founding in 2002. What he enjoys most about the company is the family atmosphere; he values the company’s fun working environment and loves the work his team produces from his hometown of Cedartown, GA.
BRIAN WOESSNER
-
The son of a contractor, Brian Woessner spent his teenage years working various construction trades alongside his dad. Ever since earning his first paycheck as a plumber for $3 an hour at the age of 14, Brian was inspired by the challenge of construction. He quickly saw the fun in taking what is to the client, a seemingly disorganized construction project, and delivering something that completely satisfies their needs. The feeling of accomplishment stuck with him throughout his youth and led him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Florida.
Since joining Duffey Southeast in 2002, Brian has fun every day at work. To him, being a great contractor means getting out in the field and building the project from the ground up, exceeding the client’s expectations. He wants to make the work of his clients easier by doing what he loves to do – build great projects on-time, within budget and of superior quality.
STEWART ROBERSON
-
Stewart started his career in construction in 1999 after 10 years in public accounting. While his career hasn’t always been in construction, he’s been interested in the industry from a young age. Growing up, his dad was a superintendent for a heavy highway contractor. His dad’s career inspired him to start his own in construction. Stewart has been with Duffey Southeast since its founding in 2002. His favorite part of working at Duffey Southeast is the family atmosphere and work environment.
GARDNER PEEK
-
Since 2009, Gardner Peek has been a key member of the leadership team at Duffey Southeast. As Vice President, he is focused on achieving superior results, which is what keeps Duffey Southeast’s commercial, manufacturing and industrial clients engaged with the firm for repeat projects.
He has earned degrees in both Construction and Business Management, coupled with his construction field experience, which provides him a unique perspective to successfully managing a wide variety of construction project types. In Gardner’s 30-years of experience, he is focused on customer service and is eager to collaborate with Duffey Southeast’s clients every day.
DIXON POOLE
-
A 30-year veteran of the commercial construction industry, Dixon Poole primarily dedicates his business activity to repeat prototype restaurant and retail projects. With a background in design, he has proven successful in increasing efficiency of growing accounts, focusing on business planning, strategic growth, business development, and relationship management.
